Here's how it works

Contact MAS, just as you would with any Medicaid trip and request to ride with Uber.

Riders will receive a text message¹ and automated call with the expected time of arrival and driver information. Smartphone users will also be able to access a tracking link.

For return rides, riders can easily reply via text message, or patients or providers can call 1-877-Uber-4NY (1-877- 823-7469)) when the rider is ready for pick up. A driver will arrive within 15 minutes, on average.²

Be ready to go - and don’t wait too long

Riders should be at the pickup spot at the expected time of arrival. If you can’t find the driver, don’t keep waiting - contact your driver directly or call 1-877-Uber-4NY (1-877- 823-7469) to check that a driver is on the way.

Check the ride, every time

Vehicles won’t be branded. Riders should use the trip details provided in the text message and tracking link to match the license plate, car model and color, and driver photo to make sure they get into the right vehicle.

Riders should check vehicles before leaving to make sure they have all of their belongings with them.

  • As of March 1, 2024, MLTC rides in New York previously managed by Modivcare are now being managed by MAS, the same broker who manages the rest of New York’s Medicaid trips.

    If your MLTC rides were connected to Uber with Modivcare, they will most likely still be connected to Uber with MAS.

    What’s new is that Uber has a dedicated phone number to be used for support and return ride requests: 1-877-Uber-4NY (1-877- 823-7469).

    After a ride is scheduled with Uber, patients and providers can contact this number at any time for:

    • Questions about upcoming ride
    • To redeem/schedule return ride
    • Ongoing ride support
    • Post ride support

    For initial scheduling, please contact MAS and ask to ride with Uber.
