Simplify logistics
In just a few steps, request a ride for your care recipient immediately or schedule transportation for later, helping them get to appointments, family events, or errands.
Coordinate care together
You and your care recipient can manage rides, track trip progress, and chat in a group with the driver partner, so time or distance aren’t barriers to care.
Use care recipient’s payment method
Uber Caregiver uses your care recipient’s chosen payment method, meaning they can claim their trip spending against any benefits they’re already entitled to
Getting started together
It takes only a few minutes to set up and enable better care for your loved one. To begin, you and your care recipient will need an Uber account.
Care recipient adds a payment method to their Uber account
If you or your care recipient don’t already have an Uber account, get set up here. Add a payment method by navigating in the Uber app to Account > Wallet > Add payment method > Credit or Debit Card.
Care recipient designates a caregiver
In the Uber app, the care recipient will navigate to Account > Wallet. Then they must select the payment method they wish to delegate, and choose Share payment method. They will need to select a caregiver from their contact list or enter the information directly and acknowledge that they have reviewed the terms of service.
You, or the caregiver chosen, will receive a notification letting you know that you’ve been added as a caregiver.
Request a ride
Now you can request rides for the care recipient using their selected payment method. Choose the time and vehicle type that’s best for your care recipient.
Track progress together
After a ride request is placed, you and your care recipient can see the trip details, including car and driver partner information. You’ll both also be able to track the real-time progress of the ride, edit the dropoff point mid-trip if needed, and participate in a 3-way chat with the driver if needed.
